One of the most social days of the year, the race that stops the nation will be widely celebrated around Brisbane. With only a week to go until the Melbourne Cup, if you haven’t yet organized your day be sure to book in quick for one of the following events…

The Pavilion Bar - 3 course lunch from 11am. Tickets are $39 and include lucky door prizes and a complimentary glass of champagne. Watch the race on the 3 metre screen and enjoy Chicken Tulips or Duck Risotto for Starter, Eye Fillet or Goat’s Cheese stuffed Chicken Breast for Main and a Bitter Dutch Chocolate Dumpling for Dessert.

Baguette - 4 course lunch. Despite the problems with horse flu, Racecourse Road will be buzzing! Eagle Farm Racecourse will host a Phantom Race Meeting with camel races, fashions on the field, picnics on the lawn … bookies and TAB. At Baguette it will be party time — with lots of glamorous ladies, big TVs to watch the race in Melbourne, sweeps and fab food. $95pp for a gourmet 4-course lunch (with choices) and drinks on consumption. 

Chalk Hotel - 5 course meal in Sticks Restaurant. Tickets are $90 and include a glass of sparkling on arrival … OR … Cocktail Party in Dust. Supporting the Leukemia Foundation head along to the Chalk for an exclusive Melbourne Cup event and help make a difference in the lives of patients living with leukemia. Tickets are $95 and includes  a stand up fork buffet, raffles, a Fashion on the Field competition and live entertainment. The rest of the hotel will have all the action playing on the 50 plasmas and TAB.

Royal on the Park - 3 course luncheon. Support a good cause and join in the action at the Melbourne Cup luncheon at Royal on the Park. Supporting the Asthma foundation of Queensland be entertained with.. Channel 10’s Mike Goldman as MC, a Calcutta Auction - performed by the talented ‘Phil Black’, Cup Sweeps, Fashions on the Field - prizes for best dressed male and female, Gourmet 3-course meal and premium Australian beverages
DJ and so much more. Tickets are $125pp or $1200 Table of Ten.

Kedron Wavell Services Club - Gourmet Buffet Luncheon. The Club’s Blue Pacific Show Room will be abuzz with race fever for Melbourne Cup Day with live entertainment, sweeps, raffles and all the racing action broadcasted live on the big screen! Catch all the excitement and atmosphere of the 2007 Emirates Melbourne Cup with host Steve Hill.
Tickets are $50 and include complimentary champagne on arrival. Doors open at 10.30am.

Story Bridge Hotel - Shelter Bar Trackside Marquee Party. Join in the party with a 4 hour food and beverage package (11:30am to 3:30pm) with canapes on arrival and gourmet lunch boxes.
